Brinah L. Vincent, CFRE
Change Agent: Colorado Springs Office
For almost 20 years, Brinah has provided key services both as a consultant and as a staff member to a myriad of nonprofit organizations in the areas of fundraising, nonprofit management, board development and organizational planning.
Working closely with both very small and very large organizations, Brinah's attention has focused on issues of social services, education, social justice and healthcare. After founding a consulting company in 1998 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brinah went on to develop a client list that included the United States Paralympic Committee, Urban Peak Colorado Springs (serving homeless teens in El Paso County, Colorado), the Women's Resource Agency (Colorado Springs), the Children's Advocacy Center (Colorado Springs), and Peak Vista Community Health Center. In addition, Brinah currently serves as an Associate for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence Colorado Springs (a replication partner for the Standards for Excellence program).
With a focus on building capacity, impact and accountability in the nonprofit sector, Brinah guides organizations toward sustainability through implementation of sound management and fundraising strategies, processes and procedures. Brinah combines direct talk with a warm facilitation style to lead organizational staff and volunteers through positive change processes.
Prior to founding Effective Fundraising Management in 1998, Brinah worked on the development staff of Boston University as the Director of Prospect Research, with St. Anthony Hospital (Denver) as the Fundraising Manager and at St. Mary's High School (Colorado Springs) as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Over the course of her staff work, Brinah identified and solicited gifts which ultimately provided millions of dollars in mission-based revenue for the organizations with which she worked.
Brinah has an MBA in Public/Nonprofit Management from Boston University, a certificate from the National Planned Giving Institute, and has been a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 1998. In 2002, Brinah was named one of the Colorado Springs Business Journal's (CSBJ) 40 Achievers Under 40, and in 2008 was named a Woman of Influence by the CSBJ. She is a trained replication presenter for the Standards for Excellence program, and has facilitated hundreds of workshops, retreats and planning sessions both in Colorado and nationwide.
